SSASO Club Membership

 

Membership is required for participation in all SSASO events. We offer 3 membership options:

​

• Yearly Membership - $50 (membership covers a single season September - August). 

  • All-Access (see below for more details).​
     

• Temporary single weekend membership - $25

  • Non-Voting, to attend an individual event.

  • Option available to "upgrade" to a full membership. 
     

• Family Membership (same household/kennel) - $50 for first person

  • $25 for each additional person.

​​All members agree to abide by the Code of Conduct: SSASO Code of Conduct

All members will be added to the SSASO members-only facebook group for the season to receive the most up-to-date information regarding events and discussions with other members. Only full members will be permitted to vote in any club votes. 

​

The members-only group will be reset in September and all individuals with expired memberships will be removed, therefore we highly recommend renewing  your membership by end of August.

Membership Renewal: 
 

If you held a SSASO membership (including weekend memberships) in the previous season you can apply for your renewal: 

1. Submit the online form.

2. Send through an e-transfer with your membership fees to ssaso.info@yahoo.com 

3. Your application will be reviewed and voted on by the board once both form and e-transfer have been received.

• If your application is approved you will be issued a membership card by email and welcome to attend all SSASO events for the season. 

• If your application is declined based on the board vote, you will receive an email from the club and your membership fees will be returned to you.

New Membership Application:

​

1. Submit the online form.

2. Your application will be reviewed and voted on by the board once form is received. 

3. If your application is approved you will be notified by email and prompted to send through your e-transfer. ​

• Once your fees have been received, you will be issued a membership card by email and welcome to attend all SSASO events for the season. 

4. If your application is declined based on the board vote, you will receive an email from the club and your membership fees will be returned to you. ​

Note: Membership applications take an average of 1 week to process and may take longer during lead-up a race or large scale event. To avoid disappointment do not wait until the week of an event to apply for membership   

​

What is including in our Yearly Membership?
 

To make the most of your yearly membership we recommend payment by August each year to allow plenty of time for review and processing and to ensure access to all events of the season.

​

You may join the club at any time during the year, however all yearly memberships will expire on 31st of August each year. 

 

Your Yearly Membership will include:

​

• Input into the clubs focus and directions and future events

• Club General Meeting in summer of year

• Access to all SASSO events: Time trials, races, training days/fun runs, sled dog showcase, educational and training workshops etc

• SSASO Bi-annual digital news letter

• Club ranking in our SSASO event points system

• COHDS/CAHDS member

• Members nominated yearly Achievement awards

• Access to the SSASO Total Dog achievement ~ new Spring 2024

• Access to SSASO members-only facebook group.
