Schmidt Lake Race & Time Trial

This race will run on the earliest date the trial is snow/ice free
Trail : 2.5 Miles
(2mile Pending parking lot we end up using)

Canicross

6 Dog Cart (2 person scramble - Sunday only)
In order to avoid head-on passing the format of this TT/Race will be slightly different.
Group of 4-5 competitors with similar speed will go out in 30-60Sec intervals.
Once they are all back the next group will go out.
Mandatory Musher's safety meeting 8:15am

This event will be ran as a Time trail (Sat) & Race. IFSS rules (same class/Team/same dogs both days.
No running water

We are in the second parting lot
2 Person Scramble rules
It’s basically a scavenger hunt
Equipment will be supplied – Big Blue 2-person cart + Tot bin
(if you break "Big Blue" the cart you pay for repairs)

Teams are 4-6 dogs & 2 humans

Each team will have a driver and "runner" and will have a check list of items they need to collect on the trial which will consist of marking flags of a specific color, # of Pylons & caution tape etc

The Driver drives the cart, the runner must leave the starting line seated in the cart and cross the finish line seated in the cart

Each item you miss, or drop will be an Additional 5second on your time

Moving other team’s items in not permitted – if you do it’s a 10 Second time penalty

Fastest time combined with most items from list collected wins - We have 1st-3rd metals + a prize

After all teams have run we will have a trail sweep go out and see what was dropped or missed

Because we have to plan ahead for the scramble when we set up the trial (colored flags) there can be no late or last-minute entrees
6 Dog RIG/CART OPEN
If you are an open team and would like to run in the 6dog class please reach out to the SSASO board before you register
We have had feedback from RNB rig teams from 2024 but we did not have any Open teams in 2024 for feedback.
Notes
Because we are offering Schmidt as a Club Race & Time trial combined
We will award as a time trail EOD SAT
IF you are working with yearlings or seniors some exceptions might be made, this a Case-by-case basis chat with the board
