Race and Time Trial Results
For all Races and Time Trials we use IFSS rules where applicable.

Race VS Time Trial
The main differences between races and time trail is:

-
Time Trials need a minimal of 12 registrations to be offered
-
Time trials do not have designated chute/start times. In a race, start times will be posted following the musher's meeting. It is your responsibility to be ready on the start line for your designated start time.
-
Time trials may or may not have organized class structure. Eg all the the 1 dog bikejore competitors go out before moving the next class
-
Time trials allow a musher to run more then 1 team in the same class. For races each musher can enter 1 team per class unless they have a secondary driver run their second team.
-
Some trails may only allow for a maximum # of people on the trial at the same time Eg Brant is an out and back trial with head on passing, normally only a max of 3-5 ppl on the at a time pending class.
-
Time trials can be timed by non-professionals (experienced volunteers) while races will have professional timers and a race judge or marshal
-
Time trials are more relaxed and flexible in overall structure
-
A time trial is a great way for newcomers to come out and try sled dog sports & meet new friends
-
For SSASO Club Points, you may only collect 1 set of points from each class per day if you run more than 1 team in a class. Eg, your best teams standing per TT class will be the award points.
-
Officials, SSASO Board or RGO can change or make exceptions to rules or regulations via vote. - Safety & fair opportunity will always be taken into consideration
Points & Ranking
SSASO Points System

Every time you participate in a SSASO or a sister club/ SSASO sponsored race or timed event, you collect points.

Points for each class you enter are accumulated for an Internal Club standing.
At the end of the season the top 3 club members/team in each class will be be awarded

How you collect points
-
1 point for starting your Race/Run (make it out of the chute)
-
1 point for every team you are faster then in your class
-
1 point for 3rd place
-
2 points for 2nd place
-
3 points for 1st place in your class

Points are accumulated after each event and track by SSASO and will be update in this FB group.

EG. You race in 2 dog Scooter, there are 10 teams and you place 3rd.
You would get 1pt for starting, you get 7pt for of the 7 teams you where faster then, + 1 more pt for placing 3rd (placing top 3)
Your total points collection for 2 dog scooter would be 9pts for that event.
Note:
-
If you run multiple teams in the same class at the same time trial, you only collect the points for your best placing team. (you are only ranked once per class)
-
Over all placement ties will be board reviewed and if there is a fair way to break them they will be. IF a tie is broken you will be notified before offical standing are posted.
-
Each season is Fall through Spring
-
To be awarded a placement medal there must be a minimal of 3 races offered for that class per season and 3 competitors per category, excluding JR's

Classes: Canicross, JR Canicross 1 & 2 Dog Bike, 1 & 2 Dog Scooter, JR-wheels, 4 & 6 Rig, 1 & 2 Dog Skijore, 2 , 4 & 6 Dog Sled, Jr Sled
